Two more Commissioners resign as Wike-Fubara rift worsens

Two more commissioners, on Thursday, resigned their positions in the state Executive Council.

They are the Commissioner for Works and staunch loyalist of former Governor Nyesom Wike, Dr George-Kelly Alabo, and his counterpart in the Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Inime Chinwenwo-Aguma.

Alabo in the letter dated December 14 and addressed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara through the Secretary to the State Government, said he resigned based on the dictates of his conscience.

Alabo served as Wike’s Works Commissioner.

In the letter titled, ‘Resignation as Honourable Commissioner For Works, Rivers State, he wrote, “My decision to resign is anchored on my conscience, personal philosophy, and professional ethics. This decision was taken after deep introspection.”

He thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve.

Alabo and Chinwenwo-Aguma’s resignation came hours after the state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Prof Zacchaeus Adangor resigned his position.
