SEGUN AYINDE, ABEOKUTA
A Chairmanship aspirant for Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Farouk Akintunde, has been honoured with a Certificate of International Ambassador of the Africa Project Against Suicide.
This was just as he was also conferred with the traditional title of Aare Atunluse Oodua Agbaye by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Akintunde, who was elated at receiving the APAS honourary certificate, said it was another privilege to serve humanity selflessly at the local, state, and federal levels as well as the world at large.
The council chairmanship aspirant, who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, said that the award conferred on him would drive him to work very hard for the development of Abeokuta South Local Government Area if he becomes the chairman.
He said, “This is another honour, not to feel shoulder padded, but humbled enough to serve the cause of humanity. I remain selfless, relentless, resilient, driven and ready to work all the time when called upon.
“For the sake of humanity and posterity, I am officially dubbed an International Ambassador with seal and signatures from nations outside Nigeria.
“The Chairmanship of Abeokuta South is in safe hands, if given the mandate, and Godwilling, we shall get there.”
Speaking on his Aare Atunluse Oodua chieftaincy title at the 3rd World Omoluabi Festival Day, which he also bagged in company with the Alaafin Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, among others, Akintunde said it was a good win for the people of Abeokuta South LG and Ogun State.
“This is a huge win for all the good people of Ogun State and Abeokuta South Local Government,” he added.
