The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied withdrawing its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council list, dismissing reports of a reversal as a rumour.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, gave the clarification on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, saying any change to the council would be formally announced.
“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” Morka said.
The denial followed reports that the party had withdrawn the council unveiled on August 22 as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was named chairman, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, as vice chairmen. Former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was appointed Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was named secretary.
The composition triggered debate within the party, particularly over the allocation of positions and the inclusion of some prominent figures, fueling speculation that the structure could be reviewed.
The APC faced a similar development ahead of the 2023 election when it adjusted its campaign council in October 2022 following disagreements over its initial composition.
No replacement for the August 22 list has been announced. The list therefore remains the APC’s latest officially released campaign structure for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
