The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a significant step in its preparations for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election by constituting committees to oversee the delegate congress.
Former Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Delegates Congress Committee.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Friday by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to the statement, the Delegates Congress Committee is tasked with supervising the election of party delegates who will participate in selecting the APC’s gubernatorial candidate for Anambra State.
The committee is composed of experienced party members and stakeholders, including:
Mohammed Abubakar – Chairman
Egogbamu Okoro
Ba’ande Imam
Augustine Agada
Babangida Abdullahi
Umar Hassan Augie
Dr. Chibuzor Nduaguda
To address any grievances that may arise from the delegate congress, the APC has also set up a Delegates Congress Appeal Committee.
The appeal committee is chaired by Albert Abiodun Adeogun and includes:
Ibrahim Shehu
Yakubu Bello
Abdulkadir Jajeri
Luka Haruna
Additionally, the party has appointed key officials to manage the Secretariat for the Delegates Congress and Appeal Committee.

This team includes Sani Galadima, Owo Onyedikachi, Ahmed Gaidam, Aso Amata Othuke, and Adamu Doma.
To ensure the delegate congress runs smoothly across the state, the APC has appointed coordinators for each of Anambra’s three senatorial zones:
Anambra North: Ukkasha Hamza, Jamilu Bawa, Prince Dick Darlington
Anambra Central: Ogenyi Okpokwu Emmanuel, Nobert A.
Sochukwudinma, Mohammed Musa
Anambra South: Abdul-Mutallib Kasim, Cham Paliya Sharon, Dr. Habib Shehu
Speaking on the committee formations, Argungu reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a transparent and credible selection process.
“The APC remains dedicated to upholding internal democracy and ensuring the best candidate emerges for the 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election. Under the leadership of His Excellency, Mohammed A. Abubakar, the Delegates Congress Committee is expected to conduct a seamless exercise in line with party guidelines,” he stated.
He called on all party stakeholders in Anambra to support the committees and assured members that the process would be conducted fairly, aligning with the APC’s principles of internal democracy.
