The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday formally presented Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to its governorship and National Assembly candidates in Gombe State, marking the completion of the party’s internal nomination process for the 2027 general elections.
The nomination forms were presented by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya during a brief ceremony held at the Government House in Gombe.
According to a statement issued by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Government House, Ismaila Misilli, the presentation signifies the conclusion of the APC’s nomination exercise following the successful conduct of its direct primaries and the commencement of the process for submitting candidates to INEC.
The party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, received his nomination form after emerging victorious in the APC governorship primary.
Also presented with nomination forms were the party’s senatorial candidates, including Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for Gombe North Senatorial District, retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Deba for Gombe Central Senatorial District, and Jerry Damara for Gombe South Senatorial District.
The APC also handed nomination forms to its House of Representatives candidates: Usman Kumo (Akko Federal Constituency), Ali Isa JC (Balanga/Billiri), Fatima Bello (Kaltungo/Shongom), Inuwa Garba (Yamaltu/Deba), Sadam Bello (Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye), and Jamilu Shabewa (Dukku/Nafada).
Addressing the candidates, Yahaya congratulated them on emerging as the party’s flag bearers, describing their victories as a reflection of the confidence reposed in them by APC members.

“I congratulate each and every one of you for earning the confidence of our great party and its members through the democratic primary process.
Your emergence is not only a victory but also a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of Gombe State and Nigeria,” the governor said.
He noted that the issuance of the nomination forms marks another important stage in the electoral process.
“The issuance of these nomination forms marks the completion of our party’s internal nomination process and the commencement of the legal process for the submission of our candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission in line with the Electoral Act and the Commission’s guidelines,” he stated.
Yahaya explained that the candidates are expected to complete all required documentation for submission through INEC’s Candidate Nomination Portal.
“Your completed nomination forms and supporting credentials will be uploaded to the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal within the timeframe prescribed by the Commission. I urge you to ensure full compliance with all the requirements,” he added.
The governor also called on the candidates to remain united and focused as the party prepares for the next phase of the electioneering campaign.
“As we move into the next phase of the electoral process, I urge you to remain focused, disciplined and united.
Cohesion within our party and sustained grassroots engagement will be critical to our success in the forthcoming elections,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the party’s candidates, Yahaya said they possess the experience, competence and credibility required to provide quality representation.
“I have every confidence that our governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, and all our National Assembly candidates have the experience, capacity and credibility to represent the aspirations of the people of Gombe State with distinction,” he stated.
