APC Insists 2027 Primary Election Dates Remain Unchanged

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has moved to dispel reports claiming it had adjusted the timetable for its 2027 primary elections, stating that no changes have been made to the schedule.

In a statement released on Wednesday night, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the clarification was prompted by what he described as misleading information circulating across social media and other platforms.

He reaffirmed that the House of Representatives primary election will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senate primary is fixed for Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party further stated that the State House of Assembly primaries are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with the governorship primary set for Thursday, May 21, 2026.

According to the APC, the presidential primary remains unchanged and will be conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

“This clarification has become necessary following the circulation of false and misleading reports on social media and other communication platforms suggesting otherwise,” the statement read.

The party advised its members and the public to rely only on official communications and disregard unauthorised reports regarding its electoral timetable.
