APC North Central Endorses Tinubu For 2027 Presidential Race

The North Central zone of the All Progressives Congress has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The decision was reached on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the party’s zonal congress held at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall, Government House, Lafia, Nasarawa State, where governors, lawmakers, ministers and party stakeholders from across the region declared support for the President’s re-election.

The motion was moved by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and seconded by Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule.

Sule said the endorsement reflected the impact of the administration’s economic reforms, noting that improved fiscal conditions had enabled some states to meet obligations and execute projects without borrowing.

He added that the party’s strength had grown to 31 governors nationwide, attributing the expansion to confidence in the administration.

Akume urged party members to intensify mobilisation ahead of 2027, warning against complacency despite the zone’s political advantage.

The congress also produced new zonal executives through a consensus process, ratified by voice vote, in line with procedures adopted at lower levels of the party structure.

In a message delivered on his behalf, APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, commended the zone for its unity and urged the new executives to strengthen party cohesion and expand membership.

He also invited stakeholders to the party’s national convention scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2026, and Friday, March 28, 2026, at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, described the congress as orderly and in line with party guidelines, calling for efforts to retain all elective positions in the zone in 2027.

The congress drew delegates and party leaders from Benue, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau and Kwara states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
