The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was rocked by fresh internal tension on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, after the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, publicly rejected the influence of the party’s dominant caucus structures, the Justice Forum and Mandate Movement, over alleged irregularities in recent primaries.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ikeja, Tinubu-Ojo accused the two blocs of manipulating the outcome of House of Representatives primaries in parts of Lagos State.
She alleged that the mandate of winning aspirants was altered after the exercises, leading to the emergence of candidates who did not secure victory at the polls.
She cited disputed primaries in Mushin Constituency I, Agege Constituency II and Ojokoro, and named Seye Oladejo, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo and Olotu Emmanuel Ojo as aspirants she said were wrongly denied tickets despite claiming majority support.

Tinubu-Ojo warned that dissatisfaction among party members was rising and could escalate into protests if the grievances were not addressed.
The development has further exposed deepening cracks within the Lagos APC, where the Justice Forum and Mandate Movement continue to wield significant influence over internal elections and candidate selection, despite repeated efforts by the party leadership to limit factional control.
Although the party officially moved in 2020 to discourage factional groupings, both blocs have remained politically active and continue to shape alignments within the state chapter.
The latest dispute adds to mounting tensions within the Lagos APC ahead of future elections, as internal rivalries over control of the party structure persist.
