Apostle Chibuzor Reconciles With Happie Boys

General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has reconciled with the duo popularly known as the Happie Boys after a long-running dispute over their scholarship abroad.

The reconciliation comes more than a year after the former Chicken Republic security guards, Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson fell out with the cleric over allegations that he abandoned them in Cyprus where they had been sent to study under his sponsorship.

Apostle Chinyere, who had placed them and several others on scholarship, suspended their overseas funding in 2023, citing the rising cost of foreign exchange and the burden of sustaining thousands of beneficiaries.

He explained at the time that he had offered alternatives, including relocation to universities in Nigeria or Benin Republic, but the students insisted on continuing in Cyprus.

The matter escalated after the Happie Boys took to social media to accuse the pastor of neglect, prompting a public war of words.

In reaction, the cleric withdrew his support and, at the height of the fallout, pronounced curses on the duo.

On Sunday, September 14,2025, Apostle Chinyere announced that he had forgiven the Happie Boys and lifted the curses, declaring that they remained his spiritual children.

He further instructed that their scholarship be restored, though with the condition that they continue their education in Nigerian or Beninese institutions instead of overseas.

The cleric reiterated his commitment to supporting young people through education, adding that he had no ill feelings towards the Happie Boys despite their criticisms.

The duo, in turn, expressed gratitude for his forgiveness and pledged to move forward in peace.
