Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued a victim in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagagola Magama, on Sunday, the incident occurred on Saturday, when suspected kidnappers abducted a victim who had gone hunting at Zabir village.
It was gathered that troops of Sector 1, deployed at Lamingo, swiftly responded to the distress call and moved to the location.
“On sighting the troops, the kidnappers abandoned the victim and fled into nearby bushes,” the source said.

The post added that the rescued victim was subsequently debriefed by the troops, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects.
Reports indicate that troops have intensified patrols in the area to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of residents.
