Troops Arrest Suspect with Alleged Explosives In Lagos

Security operatives under Operation MESA have arrested a suspect allegedly found with explosive materials in Ikorodu.

The arrest, which took place on the evening of March 21, followed intelligence reports of a civilian reportedly moving around with dangerous items in the Agric area during a public gathering.

According to information shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama, troops acted swiftly on the tip-off, mobilising to the scene and securing the area without any casualties.

Sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 7:45 p.m. and found in possession of items believed to be 36 hand grenades, though authorities say the explosives are yet to undergo full verification.

The individual, identified as a native of Osun State but residing in Ikorodu, is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Security officials said event organisers and attendees in the area were promptly briefed on the situation and advised to remain vigilant while continuing with their activities.

The suspect, along with the recovered items, has been handed over to military authorities for further investigation, as efforts intensify to determine the origin and intended use of the materials.
