Army Shifts Screening For Fallen Soldiers’ Children Nationwide

The Nigerian Army has rescheduled the nationwide screening and verification exercise for children of deceased personnel under its Education Sponsorship Scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by Major Yemi Sokoya, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters 13 Brigade, the Army said the exercise, earlier slated for February 2 to March 6, will now take place from February 9 to March 13 nationwide.

The Army also announced that the exercise within the 82 Division area of responsibility, including all formations under the Division such as the 13 Brigade Nigerian Army, will be conducted at the Headquarters 82 Division, Enugu, from February 14 to 17, 2026.

It advised all eligible beneficiaries within Cross River State to take note of the adjustment and report to the Headquarters 82 Division, Enugu, on the specified dates for the exercise.

According to the statement, the rescheduling is aimed at ensuring a seamless, transparent and well-coordinated screening and verification process for all qualified beneficiaries.

Parents, guardians and beneficiaries were urged to present all relevant documents as previously directed.

The Army reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and education of children of fallen personnel, noting that the scheme is designed to support families of those who paid the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
