Arsenal Complete Signing of Spain Midfielder Martin Zubimendi

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Spanish international Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, securing the 26-year-old midfielder on a long-term deal as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Zubimendi, a product of Sociedad’s academy, made 236 appearances for the La Liga side, playing a pivotal role in their recent rise.

His career highlights include helping the club lift the 2019/20 Copa del Rey and securing Champions League qualification in 2022/23 after a historic fourth-place league finish.

On the international stage, Zubimendi has earned 19 caps for Spain, played a crucial role in their silver-medal run at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and contributed to victories in the 2023 UEFA Nations League and Euro 2024, where he featured in the final against England.

“This is a huge moment in my career,” Zubimendi said. “I set my sights on Arsenal because their style of play suits me. The club’s ambition and quality are clear, and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Arsenal’s Sporting Director Andrea Berta described the midfielder as a “perfect fit” for Mikel Arteta’s squad, praising his intelligence, consistency, and leadership.
