Arsenal Drop Points After 1–1 Away Draw With Brentford

Arsenal’s grip on the Premier League summit loosened slightly on Thursday night after they were held to a 1–1 draw away to Brentford, dropping two vital points in the title race.

The opening half ended goalless, with both sides cancelling each other out in a tight midfield battle.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 61st minute when Noni Madueke put the Gunners ahead, finishing off a swift attacking move to give the visitors a deserved lead.

However, Arsenal’s advantage lasted just 10 minutes.

Brentford responded in the 71st minute through Keane Lewis-Potter, whose well-taken strike brought the Bees level and reignited the home crowd.

Despite late pressure from Arsenal, Brentford held firm to secure a share of the spoils.

The result sees Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League table reduced from six points to four, with Manchester City closing in fast as the title race intensifies.
