Arsenal Seal £60m Deal for Eberechi Eze

Arsenal have officially agreed a deal to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a transfer worth £60 million, completing one of the most high-profile moves of the summer window.

The deal, which includes add-ons, comes after days of advanced talks, with Arsenal moving swiftly to outpace Tottenham Hotspur, who were also in the race.

Spurs had held discussions but never reached an agreement, as Eze made it clear that the Emirates Stadium was his preferred destination.

Arsenal’s push was accelerated by Kai Havertz’s injury, which left Mikel Arteta eager to bring in an attacking midfielder capable of providing both creativity and goals.

Eze fits the profile perfectly: last season, he registered 14 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances for Palace, underlining his influence in the Premier League.

For the 26-year-old, the transfer is more than just a career step — it is the fulfilment of a childhood dream. In a 2022 interview, Eze revealed that he was devastated after being released by Arsenal at the age of 13:

“My dream was to play for Arsenal. Being released by them was the hardest. Hearing them say no to me at 13, that was tough. I remember training after I got released. I couldn’t focus, I was just crying. But I think that helped me so much in all the other rejections that I faced. I thought, if I can get through Arsenal releasing me, I can get through anything else.”

Now, nearly 13 years later, the midfielder returns to the club as one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents, ready to wear the Arsenal shirt he once longed for.

With Eze joining an already talented squad, Arsenal fans will be hopeful he can provide the creative spark and attacking depth needed to keep their title ambitions alive.

𝑵𝒐𝒘, the boy once rejected by Arsenal finally comes home — and this time, it’s all done.
