Human rights activist and public commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has cautioned that the All Progressives Congress (APC) could soon experience the same fate as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warning that power built on arrogance and injustice never endures.
Shehu made this statement on Tuesday morning, the 28th of October, 2025, via his official X account.
He compared the PDP’s loss of power after 16 years to what he described as the APC’s increasing disregard for the people.
According to him, “Whatever goes up must surely come down. Just as PDP rose and fell after its years of pride and betrayal, APC is now walking the same path.”
Shehu recalled that in 2008, the then PDP National Chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor, had declared that the party would rule Nigeria for 60 years, only for it to eventually collapse under its own weight.

“God showed them who truly owns power. The same will happen to APC if they don’t change,” he added.
Mahdi Shehu accused the APC of weakening national structures, oppressing citizens, and disregarding public trust.
He warned that such pride always leads to downfall.
Citing scripture, he said, “Psalm 37:10 says, ‘A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.’”
