The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the allegation of signature forgery raised by its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, insisting that he personally signed the letter notifying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the party’s upcoming national convention.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, October 20, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said Anyanwu personally endorsed the documents in the presence of governors, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), and other key party figures.
Ologunagba said, “The National Secretary personally signed several official letters, including the one notifying INEC of the party’s convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.”

He explained that the letters were signed just hours before the 102nd meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on August 25.
According to the PDP spokesperson, the NWC stands by the authenticity of the documents and views Anyanwu’s forgery claim as baseless.
He maintained that the party’s preparations for the convention remain on course and that all internal processes are being conducted in line with the party’s constitution.
Ologunagba further said the PDP remains focused on uniting its members and strengthening its internal democracy ahead of the November convention.
