Atalanta have announced the dismissal of head coach Ivan Juric after a disappointing start to the 2025/26 Serie A season that saw the team slump to a 3-0 home defeat against newly-promoted Sassuolo on Sunday.
Juric, who took over from long-serving manager Gian Piero Gasperini during the summer, departs after just 11 league matches, leaving La Dea in 13th place with only two wins to their name.
The Bergamo-based club confirmed the decision in an official statement on Monday, which also included the dismissal of Juric’s entire backroom staff — Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Pablo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojic, and Michele Orecchio.
“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team, along with his closest staff members. The club thanks them for their efforts and wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” the statement read.

Atalanta’s form has been worrying in recent weeks, with the side picking up just six points from their last eight Serie A fixtures. Despite a morale-boosting win over Marseille in the Champions League, Juric’s heated touchline confrontation with Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman made headlines and further strained his position.
Reports in Italy suggest that Raffaele Palladino, formerly of Monza and Fiorentina, is being considered as the leading candidate to take over the managerial role.
Juric’s sacking brings an abrupt end to a tenure that was meant to usher in a new era after Gasperini’s long spell at the helm, but instead, it has left Atalanta searching once again for stability and direction.
