Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged victorious in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary held in Osun State, securing a decisive win across all 30 local government areas.
According to the official results announced by the electoral committee overseeing the exercise, Atiku polled a total of 12,321 votes out of 17,000 cast, comfortably defeating his closest rival, Hayatu Deen Muhammed, who garnered 4,000 votes. Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, placed third with 679 votes.
The declaration was made by the chairman of the electoral committee, Olusola Adepoju, who announced the results in Osogbo on Tuesday.
The committee confirmed that Atiku Abubakar secured victories in all 30 local government areas in the state, underscoring the scale of his dominance in the contest.

A statement issued by the spokesperson for Osun ADC, Oluwaseun Abosede, further confirmed the outcome.
The statement noted that Atiku “won the entire 30 LGAs in the state,” adding that he “polled 12,321 out of 17,000 total votes cast in the primary,” while Hayatu Deen Muhammed trailed with over 4,000 votes and Rotimi Amaechi followed with 679 votes.
The primary, conducted under the supervision of the African Democratic Congress in Osun State, is expected to further shape internal party dynamics ahead of future national political contests.
Observers say the sweeping victory across all local government areas reflects a strong consolidation of support for Atiku within the state chapter of the party, as stakeholders now await the next phase of the party’s national decision-making process.
