‘The Light Is Here’ — Tinubu Assures Nigerians At Eid

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country is gradually emerging from economic and security challenges, declaring that ongoing reforms by his administration are beginning to deliver positive results and renewed hope for citizens.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, Tinubu said the sacrifices made by Nigerians over the past three years were laying the foundation for a stronger, more stable and prosperous nation.

The President described Eid-el-Kabir as a celebration that reflects the virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice, unity and compassion as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, urging Nigerians to embrace selflessness and national solidarity.

According to him, the difficult but necessary reforms introduced by his administration have helped stabilise the economy and reposition Nigeria as an attractive destination for investment, job creation and long-term growth.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” Tinubu declared, expressing confidence that the reforms would continue to improve security and expand opportunities for citizens across the country.

The President acknowledged that insecurity remains a concern despite intensified operations by security agencies, noting that terrorists and bandits still carry out attacks in some communities.

He, however, assured affected Nigerians that the Federal Government remains committed to defeating criminal elements and restoring lasting peace nationwide.

Tinubu also referenced the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader by security operatives, describing it as evidence of ongoing efforts to strengthen national security and combat terrorism.

He urged Muslims to use the Eid celebration to pray for Nigeria, its leaders and peace in communities across the country, while also encouraging citizens to support the less privileged and strengthen national unity.

The President warned criminals to abandon violence and unlawful activities or face the full force of the law.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national development, Tinubu said the government would continue investing in critical sectors including security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development to improve the lives of Nigerians.

He further pledged to build a nation where citizens can live peacefully, practise their faith freely and pursue their aspirations without fear.

The President concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts the sacrifices and prayers of the faithful and continues to bless Nigeria.
