President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured a decisive victory in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election conducted across the Federal Capital Territory, strengthening his position as the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2027 general election.
Results announced on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the APC national collation centre in Abuja showed Tinubu polling 36,103 votes, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, failed to secure any vote in the FCT exercise.
The outcome was formally declared by the Chairman of the FCT Presidential Primary Election Committee, Senator Philip Aduda, following voting across the territory’s six Area Councils and 62 political wards.
Aduda said the high turnout of party members reflected strong support for the president and confidence in the ruling party’s leadership ahead of the 2027 polls.

The exercise began on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the Abuja Municipal Area Council and was conducted under the APC’s direct primary system, which allowed registered party members to vote in their respective wards.
In AMAC, the process was coordinated in three zones by the council chairman, Christopher Maikalangu, alongside the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo.
After voting ended, results from the various area councils were collated and transported to the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja for final collation and announcement.
Tinubu’s landslide victory in the FCT mirrors similar outcomes recorded in several other states where he has dominated the ongoing APC presidential primary process nationwide.
