August 16 Bye-Elections Test for INEC’s Credibility, David Mark Declares

National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Senator David Mark, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to deliver a transparent and credible process in the nationwide bye-elections set for Saturday, August 16, 2025.

In a goodwill message on Thursday, August 14, to the party’s candidates contesting Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats, Mark said the elections must be handled in a way that restores Nigerians’ trust in the electoral system.

The ADC will be on the ballot in bye-elections across Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun States.

Describing the party as a “child of necessity” born from the desire to give Nigerians an alternative and better governance, the former Senate President appealed to voters to give the ADC an opportunity to prove itself.

The ADC chairman also appealed to security agencies to ensure a level playing field for all contestants so that the will of the people is protected without interference.
