Popular Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has unveiled his newly rebuilt home two years after a fire destroyed his previous residence in Lekki, Lagos.
In an emotional video shared via his Instagram page on Wednesday, AY gave fans a glimpse into his redesigned kitchen and pristine interiors.
Captioned “2 years since the fire… but I’m still rising. Still building. Still becoming,” the video served as a powerful message of resilience and hope.
In August 2023, AY’s mansion was severely damaged by a fire reportedly caused by an electrical malfunction on the top floor. The comedian and his family were abroad at the time of the incident. News of the tragedy reached him through social media, a moment he later described as surreal and heartbreaking.
Despite the scale of the damage, AY expressed gratitude that no lives were lost. In the aftermath, he publicly thanked his wife, Mabel Makun, for her unwavering support, describing her as the pillar who helped him navigate the emotional toll of the incident.

The newly completed residence is a remarkable upgrade, featuring luxury amenities such as a home cinema, swimming pool, gym, glass flooring, spacious walk-in closets, and an expansive garage. The renovation, which began shortly after the fire, reflects a blend of modern design and personal touches credited in part to Mabel’s influence.
“Whom God has blessed, no man can curse,” AY wrote in an earlier post celebrating the completion of the home, attributing the comeback to divine grace and persistence.
The unveiling of the home has drawn thousands of supportive comments and likes across social media platforms. Fellow celebrities and fans alike have commended AY for his resilience and grace in handling the public and personal aftermath of the disaster.
Beyond the material restoration, AY’s journey speaks to a broader narrative—one of bouncing back from loss with renewed purpose. The comedian continues to use his platform not only for entertainment but to inspire others facing setbacks.
