Bandit Attack in Kaduna Leaves One Dead, Several Abducted

A fresh wave of violence struck Sarkin Bajaga, a farming community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Wednesday, when armed bandits stormed the village, killing one farmer, injuring another, and abducting several others.

The incident, which unfolded while residents were working on their farmlands, was confirmed on Thursday by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post shared on X.

Preliminary reports identified the deceased as Titus Victor, 34, who died from gunshot wounds sustained during the attack.

Another victim, Nathan Andrew, 33, was shot in the thigh and is currently receiving medical treatment at Bege Hospital, Maraban Kajuru. His condition has been described as stable.

Makama further disclosed that a yet-to-be-determined number of farmers were whisked away by the attackers to an undisclosed location.

Security operatives have since been deployed to the area, with rescue operations and efforts to track down the perpetrators underway.

The Kajuru axis of Kaduna has been a recurring flashpoint for banditry, with rural communities often bearing the brunt of kidnappings and deadly assaults.
