At least 73 persons have been abducted following a banditry attack on Buzugu and Rayau villages in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the state.
According to post shared on X by a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Monday, the incident occurred on October 18, when armed bandits in large numbers, wielding sophisticated weapons, invaded the two villages and whisked away the victims to an unknown destination.
It was gathered that efforts were ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of all abducted persons and to restore normalcy in the affected communities.

The police assured residents of the command’s commitment to intensifying security operations in the area in collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilante groups.
