Bandits Kill Traditional Ruler In Ondo Palace Siege

Suspected armed bandits have killed Oba Kehinde Jacob Falodun, the traditional ruler of Agamo Community in Akure North Local Government Area, during a violent attack on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in what authorities described as a failed abduction attempt.

According to accounts from the community, about ten armed men stormed the monarch’s palace in the evening, attempting to seize him.

Eyewitnesses said the ruler resisted the attack, prompting the assailants to fire multiple shots.

When the bullets reportedly failed to penetrate, they allegedly struck him with a heavy object, causing fatal injuries.

The monarch’s wife narrowly escaped by fleeing into nearby bushes, while residents said the attackers appeared organized and spoke a language suggesting they were from outside the community.
