Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has dismissed Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.
The decision, announced in Bauchi on Monday, September 29, 2025, was contained in a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
The removal, according to the statement, took immediate effect and was described as part of a “minor change” in the composition of the State Executive Council.
“Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect,” the statement said.

“His Excellency appreciates her service to the state and wishes her success in her future endeavors.”
Baban-Takko was appointed in September 2024 following a cabinet reshuffle in which she succeeded Hajiya Hajara Jibrin Gidado, who left the ministry after winning a local government chairmanship seat.
