Bauchi Government Names New Council For Sa’adu Zungur University

The Bauchi State Government has announced the reconstitution of the Governing Council of Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau, following the submission of the Visitation Panel’s report set up to review the institution’s state of affairs.

According to a statement released on Thursday by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed, the appointments reflect the administration’s determination to reform higher education and promote excellence in governance.

In a strategic move, Professor Gambo Laraba Abdullahi, a distinguished educationist and academic, has been appointed Chairperson of the Governing Council. She is expected to bring her rich experience and reform-minded approach to the leadership of the institution.

The newly appointed council members include:

Alhaji Suleiman G. Abdulkadir
Professor Isa Yashi
Professor Sabo Hamma
Professor Mohammed Babangida
Comfort Audu
A Representative of the Ministry of Higher Education
A Representative from the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Bauchi
Gidado stated that Governor Mohammed has charged the council to work collaboratively with the university management and relevant stakeholders to reposition the institution as a centre of academic excellence and innovation.

“Governor Mohammed congratulates Professor Gambo Laraba Abdullahi and other newly appointed members of the council on their well-deserved appointment and wishes them success in this important and challenging assignment,” the statement concluded.

The reconstitution marks a renewed effort by the Bauchi State Government to strengthen educational institutions and deliver quality tertiary education to its citizens.
