Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, better known as Imisi, has expressed her desire to work with top filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele, describing her as a major inspiration in the Nigerian film industry.
The 23-year-old made the statement on Tuesday, the 7th of October, 2025, in Lagos while addressing journalists after receiving her ₦150 million grand prize and an SUV at the official presentation ceremony.
Imisi, who became popular for her expressive nature and acting talent during her stay in the Big Brother house, said the show helped her rediscover her love for acting.
“I think people saw a lot of my acting side while I was in the house. Even my fellow housemates said I’m a natural actress. I’m ready to do more.
“Funke Akindele is my number one mentor. I really hope to work with her one day. I also admire Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola, they inspire me a lot.”
She described her victory as “overwhelming” and said she was still coming to terms with the love and encouragement from fans across the country.

When asked if tribal sentiment influenced her win, she replied: “Maybe. Yoruba people are very supportive of their own, so that might’ve played a role. But honestly, I believe people connected with my realness and vulnerability.”
Imisi also appreciated members of her Celestial Church community for their prayers and encouragement throughout the competition.
“Fame is new to me, but I’m ready to learn and grow. I’ll seek mentorship and be intentional about my next steps,” she added, hinting that her focus now is to establish herself in the entertainment industry.
