Benue Killings: Tinubu Meets Injured Victims in Hospital

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, June 18, paid a visit to victims of the recent deadly attack in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, where more than 59 people lost their lives and several others were injured.

The President arrived at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi at about 12:58 p.m., heading straight to the hospital to see survivors of the massacre.

After the hospital visit, Tinubu proceeded to the new Banquet Hall at the Benue State Government House, where he held a closed-door meeting with key stakeholders.

The meeting focused on addressing the wave of violent attacks plaguing communities across the state.

His visit is part of a broader effort to seek lasting peace in the region. The President is expected to also meet with families of the deceased, the displaced, and community leaders affected by the violence.

Among those present at the meeting were Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, other governors from the North-Central region, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume.
