Blord’s Big Reward: 5-Year-Old Son Gets iPhone 16 for Acing French Exam

Nigerian billionaire businessman Blord has captured online attention after surprising his 5-year-old son, Elliot Williams, with a brand-new iPhone 16 in recognition of the boy’s success in a French exam.

A video shared on social media shows Blord standing outside his mansion, instructing Elliot to kneel, close his eyes, and extend his hands.

As soon as the boy knelt down, Blord placed the iPhone in his hands, leaving Elliot visibly stunned before breaking into delight.

Blord reportedly promised further rewards, telling Elliot he could receive a MacBook if he continues to perform well in school and demonstrates good behavior at home.

Captioning the video, Blord wrote:

“I Surprised Eliot My First Son With iPhone 16, Because He Passed His French Exam And His Old iPhone 13 Battery went bad !!! I Love you so Much My Son @eliot_blord.”

The iPhone 16 is valued around ₦1.3m in Nigeria, depending on the variant.

The post has drawn significant attention online, sparking discussions on parenting, childhood, and reward systems.

Many users applauded Blord for recognizing academic achievement and celebrating father-son bonding.

Others, however, questioned the appropriateness of gifting such an expensive device to a young child, raising concerns about age-appropriate rewards and exposure to technology.

The incident has reignited conversations on responsible parenting, the commercialization of childhood, and how best to encourage excellence without compromising a child’s well-being.
