Todd Boehly has stepped down from his ownership role at Chelsea following the decision by Clearlake Capital to take full control of the Premier League club.
Clearlake confirmed on Thursday, that it had acquired Boehly’s ownership interest as well as that of Mark Walter, giving the investment firm full control of Chelsea.
Boehly, who had served as chairman of the club, thanked those involved in the ownership group, the Premier League, coaches, players, staff and supporters for their contributions to the club.

“It’s been an honour to serve as Chairman of Chelsea Football Club,” Boehly said.
He added that he was confident Chelsea was “well positioned for continued success” under Clearlake’s leadership.
The development brings an end to Boehly’s ownership involvement at Chelsea, with Clearlake now assuming full control of the club.
Chelsea had been under the ownership of a consortium led by Clearlake Capital and Boehly since the acquisition of the club in 2022.
