Buhari back from London medical trip

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, returned to Nigeria following the conclusion of his medical check-up in London.

The presidential jet, which conveyed the president from London, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday evening.

President Buhari left Nigeria on March 30, 2021, for his first medical trip this year.

But during Buhari’s visit to the United Kingdom, some Nigerians had stormed the Abuja House, Nigeria’s Diplomatic Mission in London, to protest his medical trip to the European country.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Mohammed Bello, and the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, were among other government officials who received Buhari on arrival.

After Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had declined to speak on the exact date of the President’s return.

“Today is Wednesday, this week finishes on Saturday. So, what’s the big issue in that one?” the minister had told State House Correspondents.
