. Commerce minister Adebayo, Dantata, Kano Emir’s rep, others present at reconciliation meeting
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Thursday, brokered peace between the warring President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdussamad Isyaka Rabi’u.
It was learnt that Ganduje hosted the two business giants, who are both indigenes of the state at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, on Thursday, where he was said to have “successfully reconciled” the duo.
Dangote and BUA have been at each others’ throats following a rift over control of Sugar production in the country.
The two warring business moguls had dismissed the allegation that Dangote was planning to see to the increase of sugar price by pressurising BUA to succumb to the increment.
It was gathered that prominent Kano business man, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, played a major role in facilitating and making the meeting a reality.
It was further learnt Minister for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Mr Niyi Adebayo; representative of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi; Chairman of the Council of Kano Imams, Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Adam; Chief Imam of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani Friday Mosque, Kofar Mata, Kano and the Chairman of NEPZA, Hon. Adamu Panda, were among personalities who attended the reconciliation meeting.
Both Dangote and the BUA chairman were said to have agreed to work together for the economic growth of Nigeria.
