Popular Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho, has mocked the death of former president Muhammadu Buhari, stating that the leader who once sent DSS, Soldiers to kill him in 2021 has died before him.
First News had earlier reported that former president Buhari passed on at the age of 82, in a medical center in London.
A statement by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Sunday, disclosed that the former head of state gave up the ghost after a short illness.
Reacting to the death of the former president, Igboho, a prominent figure in the Yoruba self-determination movement, said that one of the people who wanted him dead has gone before him.
The remark was made in a viral video shared on social media following news of Buhari’s death on Sunday.
Igboho accused the former president’s administration of persecuting him over his agitation for an independent Yoruba nation.
In the now-trending clip, the activist claimed that Buhari sent armed security men, including the Department of State Service, the Police, and the military, to assassinate him in his house.
He said: “Good evening my everyone, my people, Buhari has died, I thank God for Allah today.

“The Buhari criminal man sent DSS and military to come and kill me in the middle of the night, on July 4th, 2021, has died today, see life.
“My people, we’re supposed to learn about this, that criminal man, Muhammadu Buhari, has died, and I’m alive today.
“Criminal Fulani man with some stupid Yorubas that ganged up to take my life, but God said no.”
In 2021, during Buhari’s administration, Nigerian security forces raided Igboho’s residence in Ibadan, killing two of his aides and declaring him wanted for allegedly stockpiling weapons and inciting violence.
Igboho fled the country and was later arrested in the Benin Republic while attempting to travel to Germany, sparking a diplomatic standoff and protests across the South-West demanding his release.
