The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released a comprehensive list of items banned from all stadiums ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to begin on December 21 in Morocco.
In guidelines published on its official website on Monday, CAF said the restrictions are part of broader measures to guarantee safety, order and an enjoyable match-day experience for fans across all host venues. Supporters attending matches will be subjected to security screening and are strongly advised to comply with the regulations to avoid delays or denial of entry.
According to CAF, prohibited items include alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, weapons, sharp objects, fireworks and other pyrotechnics, as well as glass bottles and flammable materials. The football body also barred racist, violent or discriminatory banners, along with unauthorised political, religious or commercial signage.
Other restricted items include drones, animals, large umbrellas, oversized hats, professional cameras, recording equipment, musical instruments, loud horns, radio-emitting devices—excluding mobile phones—and heavy or oversized bags.

CAF said the measures are intended to create a secure and welcoming environment as Africa’s flagship football tournament returns amid heightened global attention. Fans have been urged to plan ahead, travel light and adhere strictly to stadium regulations as excitement builds toward the opening match in Morocco.
The 2025 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations is expected to draw millions of supporters from across the continent and beyond, with organisers stressing that cooperation from fans will be key to a successful tournament.
