The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has issued a strong alert to those taking part in the 2025 paramilitary recruitment. The Board said fake recruitment messages are being spread online, and many applicants have already been targeted.
A post shared on its official X account late Wednesday made it clear that the Board will not reach out to applicants through emails or text messages.
Only information on its verified portal should be trusted.
Applicants were told to visit the site to update their details and print their exam slips, which form part of the shortlisting stage.
“CDCFIB will not send emails or SMS to applicants. Visit our portal, and once shortlisted, update your profile to print your examination slip. Follow the instructions carefully. Beware of scammers,” the Board said.
This alert followed the release of shortlisted names for the computer-based test across the paramilitary agencies.
The Board’s secretary, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, also told those who applied to check their status on the official portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, starting Thursday.

“From Thursday, October 30, 2025, candidates are to check if they have been shortlisted for the next stage of the exercise, as well as centres for the Computer-Based Test, CBT.
“Shortlisted candidates are further requested to take note of the venue, date, as well as time scheduled for the CBT,” he said.
He stressed that only the correct portal should be used to avoid falling into the hands of criminals.
The recruitment covers the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
