Renowned entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, fondly called Charly Boy, has called on Nigerian celebrities to stop making a spectacle of their private lives.
Reacting to the ongoing marital crisis between superstar couple 2Baba and Annie Idibia in a recent interview with TVC, the outspoken septuagenarian stressed the importance of handling relationship matters away from the public eye.
“I feel sorry for the couple (2Face and Annie Idibia). It’s unfortunate. But my advice would be, can we just keep our business private, away from the public?” he urged.
Acknowledging the pervasive influence of social media, Charly Boy pointed out that discretion remains a personal choice. “Social media has changed a lot but it’s up to the people, too. I’m not talking from a saintly perspective. I have had quarrels with my partner but we settle in the room privately.
“You don’t bring it outside to the public to settle. I think that’s wrong because if I were to stop living with my wife today, nobody would know about it. I won’t make noise about it,” he stated confidently.
With this advice, Charly Boy reinforces the need for public figures to guard their personal affairs, emphasizing that some matters are best resolved behind closed doors.
