Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has announced the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
She disclosed the loss on Friday, October 2, 2026, in an Instagram post, saying she had kept the news private while processing her grief.
The actress said her father’s death was particularly painful because it leaves her without either parent, 13 years after her mother’s death.
She remembered Leonard as a cherished father and expressed gratitude that he lived to see his children and grandchildren. She added that the family had hoped he would meet his great-grandchildren.

Chukwuka-Akpotha also appealed for prayers for herself, her siblings and the wider Chukwuka family, saying funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Leonard’s death comes 13 years after the actress lost her mother, Egoyibo Chukwuka, who died on May 22, 2013, and was buried in July that year at Irefi Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The actress has not disclosed her father’s exact date or cause of death.
Chukwuka-Akpotha, who began her acting career in 2000, won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2007 for her performance in Sins of the Flesh.
