Chioma Adeleke, wife of Nigerian music star Davido, has returned to social media for the first time in nearly three years, sharing an emotional tribute to her late son, Ifeanyi.

In the early hours of Thursday, August 21, 2025, Chioma made the post on her Instagram account, writing: “My best friend walked me into forever. Ify, you’re on my mind every day and you live in my heart.” The message, directed at her first child, marked her long-awaited reappearance online after withdrawing from the public eye in 2022.

Her son, Ifeanyi David Adeleke Jr., died in October 2022 at the age of three following a drowning incident at the family’s Lagos residence. The tragedy led both Chioma and Davido to step away from the spotlight for months, drawing nationwide sympathy and support for the family.

Chioma’s comeback comes just 10 days after she and Davido held their lavish wedding in Miami on August 10, 2025. The event, attended by high-profile politicians, celebrities, and business executives, followed an exclusive pre-wedding celebration in the same city. The wedding was reported to have cost over $3.7 million, underscoring its scale and significance.

While Davido gradually returned to music and public appearances from 2023, Chioma remained largely absent from social media, choosing to grieve privately. Her decision to reconnect with the public through such a deeply personal message underscores the lasting bond she shares with her late son and the strength she has drawn from the loss.

Her post has since drawn thousands of reactions, with fans and celebrities alike praising her courage and expressing solidarity. Many described her return as both heartbreaking and inspiring, noting that it signaled resilience in the face of unimaginable grief.
