A Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, has ordered the police to investigate a criminal complaint filed against Senator Francis Fadahunsi over alleged comments calling for the killing of Accord Party members.
The Presiding Magistrate II, Farida Ibrahim, directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7, Abuja, to investigate the complaint and submit its findings within two weeks.
The directive was contained in a letter dated August 13, 2026, and signed by the court’s Registrar, Abdulraham Yusuf.
The letter, titled “Direct Criminal Complaint Between Pelumi Olajengbesi and Senator Francis Fadahunsi,” was issued pursuant to Section 89(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.
It read, “I am directed by the presiding Magistrate II, His Worship Hon. Farida Ibrahim, sitting at Magistrate Court Wuse Zone 6, F.C.T Abuja to write to your office to investigate the above-mentioned case and report back within two weeks.”
The court enclosed a copy of the criminal complaint and requested the police to take “necessary action.”
The complaint was filed by Pelumi Olajengbesi, campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, following the circulation of a video allegedly showing Fadahunsi making comments against members and supporters of the Accord Party.
Olajengbesi accused the senator of making statements capable of encouraging violence against Accord supporters ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
The police investigation comes amid a wider dispute between the two men, with Olajengbesi also threatening legal action over separate allegations allegedly made by Fadahunsi during television interviews.

In a letter dated August 12, 2026, Olajengbesi’s lawyer, Hammed Lasisi, demanded that Fadahunsi retract statements allegedly made during an interview on Viable TV on July 2 and another appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on August 11.
The lawyer alleged that Fadahunsi accused Olajengbesi of sponsoring thugs as well as members of the Eiye and Aye cult groups.
The letter stated, “During the said interview, you launched a direct attack on the identity, character and reputation of our Client by stating, among other things, that our Client was ‘not even from the same Ijebu-Jesha’ and was ‘from somewhere in Ogun State.’ You further accused him of ‘using thugs, Eiye and Aye.’”
The lawyer also alleged that during the August 11 Politics Today interview, Fadahunsi said, “Rogba is an Eiye man sponsored by Barr. Olajengbesi terrorising the whole … my own territory up and down through all these Eiye and Aye.”
Olajengbesi rejected the allegations, describing them as false, defamatory and damaging to his reputation.
“The allegation of sponsoring cultists and persons engaged in acts of terror is particularly serious, as it imputes criminality and conduct wholly incompatible with our Client’s standing as a legal practitioner, public figure and candidate for elective office,” the lawyer stated.
Olajengbesi also denied ever sponsoring, financing, supporting or patronising any cult group or its members for criminal or political activities.
Through his lawyer, he demanded that Fadahunsi withdraw the alleged defamatory remarks using the same media platforms where they were made and issue an “unequivocal and unreserved public apology.”
The lawyer gave the senator 24 hours to comply with the demands, warning that failure to do so would result in legal proceedings seeking N10 billion in general and aggravated damages for defamation and injurious falsehood.
The latest court directive adds another legal dimension to the controversy surrounding Fadahunsi’s comments, coming just two days before the Osun governorship election.
