Former Minister of Sports and Youths Development, Solomon Dalung, has described Nigeria’s institutions as being under severe control, likening them to captives held by bandits in the forest.
Dalung made the remarks on Wednesday, the 25th of an interview on Trust TV, while speaking on the state of government institutions in the country.
He said the judiciary is the most affected, noting that it faces heavy criticism from Nigerians.
Despite the criticism, Dalung stated that the judiciary operates within a toxic and hostile environment.

“Our institutions currently in Nigeria are not different from captives who are currently with the bandits in the forest. That’s how our instructions are.
“If you have watched how bandits put a captive with guns and ask them, can you speak? Can you say this? Then they will go and hit them with guns. Our institutions are under the jack booth of a dictator. And the judiciary is worse affected,” he said.
