The Dangote Group has reaffirmed its resolve to forge strategic collaborations aimed at boosting industrial growth, reducing reliance on imports, expanding economic opportunities, and strengthening Nigeria’s economy.
This assurance was given on Thursday, the 12th of February, 2026, by the Executive Director, Commercial Operations, Dangote Group, Fatima Aliko-Dangote, who was represented by the Regional Sales Director, Lagos, Tunde Mabogunje. She spoke during Dangote Day at the 15th Gateway Trade Fair organised by the Ogun Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) in Abeokuta.
According to her, the theme of the fair, “Promoting Businesses through Partnership,” reflects the guiding principles of the Dangote conglomerate and underscores the importance of collaboration in driving sustainable growth.
As one of the lead sponsors of the event, she stated that Dangote Industries “is proud to stand with OGUNCCIMA to deepen commerce, strengthen value chains, and open markets for manufacturers, MSMEs and consumers across the region.”
She further noted, “Our participation this year dovetails with Dangote Vision 2030, our enterprise-wide plan to accelerate industrial expansion, spur cross-border investments, and reduce import dependence in strategic sectors.
“We are also celebrating a partnership that builds competitiveness. Ogun State is a proven industrial hub. Our long-term investments here underscore our belief in the State’s competitiveness and in the power of public–private collaboration.”
Highlighting the company’s footprint in Ogun State, she pointed out that the Ibese cement plant, with a production capacity of 12 million metric tonnes per annum, plays a critical role in meeting domestic demand, supporting exports, and generating employment. She added that a new 6 million metric tonnes per annum integrated cement plant under construction in Itori will further expand output, enhance supply chain integration, and strengthen export capacity across West Africa.
On energy development, Aliko-Dangote revealed that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is pursuing an expansion plan that will increase refining capacity from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day within three years. The projected upgrade, she said, will boost energy security across the region, create additional jobs, and stimulate related industries such as polypropylene production.
In the agricultural sector, she disclosed that the group is collaborating with Ethiopian Investment Holdings on a $2.5 billion Urea fertiliser facility in Gode, with projected output of up to 3 million metric tonnes per annum. The project is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and promote exports, demonstrating the company’s broader African commitment to food security.
Aliko-Dangote stressed that consistent government policies combined with effective private sector implementation remain essential to achieving long-term competitiveness, economic growth, and job creation.
She also encouraged visitors to the trade fair, which runs from the 12th to 16th of February, to explore the Dangote Pavilion, where products such as cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, rice, and Sinotruck vehicles are being offered at special fair prices.
Reiterating the group’s focus on sustainable growth, she said the company continues to invest in human capital, technology, and environmentally responsible practices while equipping young people with skills suited for today’s and future industries.

Encouraging deeper collaboration, she stated, “As we celebrate Dangote Special Day, I invite you to visit the Dangote Pavilion to experience our product range, engage with our teams, and explore partnership opportunities distribution, logistics, retail, and project supply.
“Share feedback your insights help us innovate faster and serve Ogun’s businesses and households better. Build partnerships let’s use this fair to broker the deals that power factories, farms, and families across our region.”
In his remarks, OGUNCCIMA Chairman, Niyi Oshiyemi, described the trade fair as a platform designed to stimulate commerce, foster collaboration, and attract investment.
He added that Dangote Day goes beyond ceremonial recognition, serving as a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs, investors, and young Nigerians aspiring to build enduring enterprises that contribute to community development.
Oshiyemi further noted that Dangote Group’s sustained participation underscores the vital role of public–private partnerships in promoting economic diversification, infrastructure expansion, and growth across key sectors.
