Davido has broken his silence about his son, Ifeanyi, nearly three years after the boy drowned at the family’s Banana Island residence.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the singer wrote: “Ifeanyi David Adedeji Adeleke RIP LEGEND !!” A brief but heavy tribute that stirred emotion across social media.
Ifeanyi who died on the 31st of October, 2022, shook many. He was just three, the police confirmed that he drowned in the family pool, and both Davido and Chioma were away at the time.
The boy’s death sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and beyond.
Davido received sympathy from local and international stars including Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Meek Mill, Victor Moses, and rapper Bia.

Many described the tragedy as unimaginable, especially for a parent.
Since the incident, Davido kept a low profile for months, then reappeared in 2023 with the release of Timeless, a deeply personal project.
