The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has ridiculed the recent attempt by suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, to return to plenary, describing it as nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Adaramodu said Akpoti-Uduaghan’s dramatic appearance at the National Assembly was “political theatrics” rather than a genuine move to resume legislative duties.
“The National Assembly is for lawmaking, not for watching skit-making and content creation,” he said.
He likened the controversy to a reality show, remarking:
“Initially, I said this whole episode was about content creation. Now that the content is created, it has turned into a seasonal film. We are lawmakers, not actors.”
The Senate spokesperson insisted that proper legal procedures must be followed before Akpoti-Uduaghan can be reinstated.

“Even if a litigant gets a judgment, enforcement isn’t done personally. Court bailiffs serve orders on those prescribed by the court. That’s the law,” he explained.
Adaramodu accused his colleague of staging the drama for public sympathy:
“Nigerians can see this for what it is—a skit-making episode by our colleague.”
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, however, maintains that a Federal High Court nullified her suspension and that she has a constitutional right to return to her seat.
The Senate has yet to officially acknowledge the ruling or lift the suspension, leaving the matter unresolved.
