Afrobeats superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, United States, on June 10.
The announcement was made by FIFA on Tuesday as part of its global build-up activities ahead of the expanded tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to FIFA, Davido will perform alongside Diplo’s music project Major Lazer, bringing together Afrobeats and electronic dance music on one stage during the Los Angeles edition of the concert series.
The event will be held at the Crypto.com Arena, with doors expected to open at 5 p.m. local time and the live show scheduled to begin an hour later.
FIFA described the concert as part of a synchronized entertainment programme connecting Los Angeles, Toronto, and Mexico City through music, football, and cultural performances.

In its statement, FIFA said: “Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture.”
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, Manolo Zubiria, said the Countdown Concert series reflects the unity and cultural diversity that define the World Cup, adding that Los Angeles would deliver a memorable experience for fans worldwide.
The concert tickets went on sale on June 3, with global streaming planned across FIFA’s digital platforms, including TikTok, while on-demand replays will also be available after the event.
The announcement further highlights Davido’s growing international presence as Afrobeats continues to gain global recognition on major entertainment and sporting stages.
