The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspects connected to a gun allegedly recovered from an upcoming artiste, Oghenemine Ogidi, who was killed during an incident involving a police officer in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.
The development was confirmed on Monday by the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, who said the arrests followed a detailed and intelligence-led investigation into a suspected arms trafficking network operating across multiple states.
According to the police chief, operatives tracked and arrested four individuals identified as Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa, Amadi Princewill, and Amadi Felix Chibuike in coordinated operations carried out in Bayelsa and Imo States.
Oyeniyi said the first suspect, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, was arrested in Bayelsa State on May 4, 2026, along with a roommate whose phone was allegedly used in the transaction linked to the firearm.
He disclosed that during interrogation, Chukwuemeka confessed to purchasing the weapon from Amadi Princewill for ₦290,000 and later selling it to an unidentified buyer, known as Desmond (now at large), for ₦380,000.
According to him, the suspect further stated that the firearm was subsequently transported to Effurun, where it was allegedly linked to the late Oghenemine Ogidi.

Following the confession, detectives reportedly trailed and arrested the second suspect, Amadi Princewill, in Imo State on May 15, 2026. Police said further interrogation led to the arrest of a third suspect, Amadi Felix Chibuike, in Owerri on May 16, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police noted that investigations revealed the suspects were allegedly members of the Black Axe confraternity, a claim now forming part of ongoing profiling and intelligence analysis.
He added that efforts were still ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the network, including the suspected arms courier identified as Desmond.
Oyeniyi assured that all suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, stressing the command’s commitment to dismantling illegal arms trafficking and criminal syndicates within the state.
The police also reaffirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Oghenemine Ogidi remains active, as authorities work to establish all connections to the recovered firearm.
