Domestic Dispute: Bauchi Police Arrest Woman Over Husband’s Death

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old woman, Salamatu Danjuma, over the tragic death of her husband following a heated domestic dispute in Nadabo village, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Monday, revealing that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over the custody of Salamatu’s six-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

According to preliminary investigations, Salamatu’s family had initially supported integrating the child into the household.

However, her husband later opposed the decision, leading to escalating tensions between the couple.

“The dispute reached a breaking point when, during a heated argument, Salamatu, feeling cornered, grabbed a knife from their bedroom, leading to a fatal outcome,” the statement read.
