DSVA Traces Survivor After Viral Sexual Assault Video Surfaces Online

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA, has acknowledged a video circulating on social media in which a young woman shared her experience of sexual assault at her home.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the 17th of February, 2026, the agency said efforts are underway to locate the survivor and provide her with immediate support and intervention.

“Our team has initiated contact through available channels and will continue efforts to establish communication,” the statement read.

The DSVA called on anyone with credible information that could assist in reaching the survivor safely to contact them via direct message on the agency’s official social media platforms.

Reaffirming its commitment to ending abuse, the Lagos State Government reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against domestic and sexual violence, emphasizing that sexual assault is a crime and that every survivor deserves protection, care, support, and justice.

The agency also highlighted that all reports are handled with confidentiality and urgency, encouraging survivors to come forward.
