Dangote Elevates Daughters To Strategic Leadership Roles

In a decisive move to consolidate succession and strengthen top-level management, Africa’s richest businessman, Aliko Dangote, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, elevated his three daughters to key executive positions across the Dangote Group, placing them at the centre of the conglomerate’s core business operations.

Halima Aliko Dangote was appointed Group Executive Director in charge of the Dangote Family Office and International Operations in Dubai and London, where she will supervise governance systems, strategic coordination and global office management.

Fatima Aliko Dangote assumed office as Group Executive Director, Commercial Operations, Oil and Gas, with responsibility for commercial strategy across the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, fertilizer business and upstream oil interests. Her portfolio also covers corporate communications, administration, facilities and procurement.

Mariya Aliko Dangote was named Group Executive Director, Commercial Operations, Cement and Foods, and will lead market expansion, commercial planning and customer engagement across the group’s cement and food divisions.

The appointments formalise years of growing executive responsibility held by the three daughters and underscore a deliberate transition toward structured, multigenerational leadership within the conglomerate.

Industry observers say the development strengthens internal governance while positioning the group for long-term stability and expansion.

The leadership shift comes as the Dangote Group advances major industrial projects spanning refining, cement production and fertiliser expansion, reinforcing its standing as one of Africa’s most influential industrial enterprises.
